I asked my husband to take a few pics so I could practice posing…gotta know how to work it in front of the camera if I want to master it behind the camera . Whatcha doin’ today? I’ll be editing, editing, editing and meeting with a client later today.  I hope you’re having a great and productive Tuesday!

Printed Art vs. Digital Images

kcpc-6265_web

Delivery time 😄👏🏽👏🏽 This is the part I love…delivering product that I’m proud of to my wonderful clients!! Yaaaas 😄📷❤️🎉.

I’ve recently realized how important it is to get actual prints and photo books instead of images on cd!! As my kids get older many of my memories are gone in old computers or some other digital format that I have no idea where they are. This breaks my heart. I’ve been trying to print as many images as possible because there is NOTHING like printed memories!!

Let’s do a photoshoot and get some great products for you to treasure forever…trust me, it’s worth EVERY PENNY!

Contact kathy@kcphotocreations.com so we can get some great memories to keep forever!

Bye bye digital images hello printed art!

Shake Those Nerves! Farmer’s Daughter Hotel

When I first started pursuing my dream of being a photographer, I used to get soooo nervous…even NOW when I have a big event, I STILL get nervous, but I refuse to let that stop me…ever!

rv_kcpc-0055_web

One thing I do when I have a big event that has my stomach in knots, I schedule “me” time the following week so instead of focusing on my nerves I focus on the treat to myself AFTER my big event and it really helps lol.

rv_kcpc-0056_web

I love to treat myself to an overnight stay at a nice hotel where I can relax and also work with my laptop and enjoy a little time away.

rv_kcpc-0058_web

When you have a big event or just something that is nerve wracking, what do you do?? I’d love to hear about it!

What’s in my bag??

I know when I’m at a photo session or event, some may wonder what the heck does she have in those bags??!! Well these are SOME of my essentials that I carry…my 24-70 and 70-200 are my go to lenses. I gotta have my flash for those poor lighting situations and my remote trigger so that I can have off camera flash. My Jane Iredale is a must for my jobs so my lipstick will last for hours. Gotta have my little bag for my iphone and keys because before this bag, I never could find my keys and phone. Lastly I have to have my micro cloth to keep my glass clean. So there you go…just a few things I carry on each job 🙂

Crowne Plaza San Diego – Reggie and Diana’s Wedding

It was a little over 2 years ago when  a gentleman called me from Indiana and said he would like to do a photo session with his girlfriend when he came to San Diego to visit her.

Who would’ve guessed two years later I would be photographing Reggie and Diana’s wedding!

I absolutely  love  and appreciate this beautiful couple!  Whenever these two get in front of my camera, it is so much fun and we create beautiful images every time.

Reggie and Diana, I was very honored to be able to capture your wedding day!!  It was absolutely beautiful!  Here are a few of my favorites.

Canyon Golf Club Wedding – Luis and Jill

When I first met Jill and Luis at their Laguna Beach engagement session, I instantly fell in love with these two!

Well, it actually wasn’t an “engagement” session because they  previously eloped and they wanted to have a ceremony and reception to celebrate their love and commitment to each other publicly before God, family and their friends.

Jill’s dear friend, LaResha, did a fantastic job coordinating this very special day.  I was so impressed with the way LaResha transformed the space she had for the wedding then quickly transitioned it to the reception so smoothly and after months of planning,  the Alva wedding was a total success!  Jill and Luis looked amazing and the love they have for each other is so evident and a blessing to see!

Here is a sneak peek of a some of my favorites!

Jill and Luis decided to do a first look, which means they see each other before the ceremony.  I LOVE first looks because it gives the bride and groom a private moment to be with each other before the rush of the day begins…it was a beautiful moment as their anticipation grew to see each other.

Lem and Tannyr’s Wedding

For months Tannyr and Lem had been planning their wedding from their home in Georgia.  Their plans included flying out to San Diego to have an outdoor wedding at the Admiral Kidd Catering and Conference Center in Point Loma which has a beautiful view of the Downtown San Diego skyline!

Everything was all good to go…except for the weather!  This particular week-end, it was one of the heaviest rains San Diego had seen in a long time…and it wasn’t just a drizzle…it was rain!

But there was no raining on this parade and it actually turned out to be an amazing time of love and celebration to a packed room of friends and family!

Here are a few of my favorites from Tannyr and Lem’s beautiful wedding!

Sukari

I haven’t done very many product sessions but the few that I have done, I treat just like I would any other session.  I find out what the vision is and I do my best to bring it to life.

Sukari Premium Vodka was co-founded by Rolesha and her business partner, Edward.  When Rolesha contacted me to photograph their product, I asked what her vision was and she said it was catered towards women and wanted it to reflect ladies having a good time with their girlfriends.

Sukari has a blend of erotic superfruits such as oranges, pineapples,  blood oranges, and dragon fruit so I wanted to incorporate that as well.  I went out and scouted locations and tried to envision her ideas and this was what I came up with.

Here are a few of my favorite shots from my Sukari photo session 🙂
