What a FUN day it was photographing the Garcia Family! A few things tried to get in the way, but Lydia and I were determined to make this session happen, and we are all happy we did!
Here are a few from our session…Enjoy!!
One thing that makes a family session memorable, is to incorporate things and activities that you and your family enjoy doing. The oldest daughter, Miranda, loves to paint, and is quite the artist. The younger daughter, Miliana, loves her teddy bear, so they brought Miranda’s easle and one of her beautiful paintings to include in their session…and of course we couldn’t leave out Miliana’s Teddy Bear 🙂
These are moments they will treasure for a lifetime!
Thank you Miranda Family for giving me the honor and joy of photographing your adorable family!!

I remember it clearly. I was meeting with my friend, C.L. Reed, at Panera Bread and my phone rang…it was my sister, Karen. I silenced the ring, knowing I would call her back once I was done with my meeting. I called her back, and that’s when I got the news I did not expect to hear…Jordyn has cancer.
I thought back on our conversation a few days earlier when she shared that she was concerned with what the biospy would be from a lump that was removed from his nose. I assured her he would be fine and that they would have called her sooner if they saw anything…well she said that wasn’t the case and that they in fact found cancer and that he was going to need surgery and chemotherapy to remove it…with their hand and trust fully in the Lord, their new journey began.
Jordyn was 12 years old when he was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), which is a rare soft tissue cancer that generally affects children.
He was admitted to UNM Children’s Hospital in January 2014 to begin his treatment.
My nephew has always had such a kind spirit, as do all of my nieces and nephews. Jordyn was just AMAZING throughout this whole journey!!
His brother Keanyn’s basketball team surprised Jordyn and gave him a signed basketball and jersey ♥
Sooooo many people gave gifts, love, prayers, and so much more that brought smiles and joy during this time…you are ALL sooo appreciated!
They were blessed with a wonderful team of doctors!
So many unique opportunities came out of this experience…Jordyn was in a local commercial among many other things!
God bless the Make A Wish Foundation!! They sent Jordyn and his family to Disneyworld!!
Today is Jordyn’s last day of chemotherapy and I am so thankful to be able to say that Jordyn is now in remission (Thank you Jesus!!)
Karen is looking forward to starting a support group for families affected by Cancer.
Karen sent me a little video and a few pictures from today…his final treatment, and I put this little video together. Prov. 3:5 always…
We LOVE you Jordyn and EVERYONE that sent love, gifts, support, smiles, prayers, thoughts, well wishes, fb comments and likes…so many people and organizations…some of you know who you are and some of you don’t even realize your impact…you were such a blessing and we are beyond thankful to EACH and EVERYONE of you!!! Please continue to keep Jordyn and his family in your prayers ♥♥♥
